Heylist launches next-gen UGC content approval module

Transforming how brands and creators collaborate on user-generated content.

Heylist is introducing a new content approval module that transforms how brands and creators collaborate on user-generated content (UGC)—offering seamless, in-platform workflows for feedback, iteration, and approval.

Launching in August, the new module is designed to make content collaboration smoother, more transparent, and more creator-friendly. Instead of clunky email threads, chaotic Google Docs, or disconnected workflows, creators and clients can now co-create inside Heylist’s native interface—right from campaign kickoff to final post approval.

Co-create, not micromanage

At its core, this isn’t a tool for brands to take control. It’s a framework for creative alignment.

When a creator joins a campaign, they can easily upload posts into their dedicated campaign space—complete with content type, media (images or videos), and captions. Each piece is clearly marked "for review," signaling that it’s ready for collaborative feedback.

All submitted content is managed individually, giving creators full flexibility to revise or update their posts anytime before approval. On the client side, brand teams can validate or request changes using integrated messaging—powered by Heylist Messages—to keep all feedback in one place, without bouncing between platforms.

“This is about strengthening the creative partnership between brands and creators. We built the approval module with flexibility, transparency, and trust at its center—because great campaigns come from alignment, not oversight.”

Built for real-world campaign workflows

Here’s how it works:

  • Clients opt in: Brands must enable the approval module when setting up a campaign. This ensures mutual clarity around expectations and timelines.
  • Creators upload directly: Once onboarded, creators can upload their proposed content within the campaign workspace, tagging it by type and including visuals + captions.
  • Iterate in real-time: All posts are editable by the creator until approved. Any feedback from clients is sent via Heylist Messages, keeping the conversation focused and traceable.
  • Approve and go live: When both sides are happy, the brand simply clicks “Approve” and the content is cleared for posting.

The tool supports all major UGC formats—including static posts, short-form video, reels, and stories—and is optimized for mobile and desktop workflows alike.

From fragmented feedback to focused collaboration

The decision to build a collaborative approval layer came directly from Heylist’s community of brands and creators, who wanted more structure without sacrificing creative freedom.

Many brands needed a centralized way to review content before it went live, especially in regulated industries or branded partnerships. Creators, on the other hand, wanted clarity—knowing whether content was approved, needed edits, or was good to go.

“Creators don’t want to guess what clients are thinking. And clients don’t want to chase down DMs,” said Boudreau. “This bridges that gap.”

What’s next?

Heylist’s content approval module will officially roll out to all brand accounts in August, with guided onboarding and support for existing campaigns.
Brands interested in activating the feature early can contact Heylist’s support team to opt in ahead of the public release.
As UGC campaigns become increasingly central to modern marketing strategies, tools that streamline creator-brand collaboration will become essential infrastructure—not just “nice to have.”
